Jones began slow, but as the round went on, he started to score with shots to the midsection and legs. Jones is getting more confident and closing the distance. There was also a straight left hand to the face that appeared to hurt Smith. The T-kick up the middle is finding its mark on the stomach and to the face. Jones maintained top control throughout the round to take what might be an insurmountable lead. With each passing round, Jones is getting more confident and dominant. Jones should still be up big, but that round might be even now. He could have said he was unable to continue, but he didn't take the way out. Jones was docked two points for the infraction and honorably, Smith chose not to take the DQ win. It wouldn't be a Jones fight without some controversy.
